THESIS
The greatest danger posed by influential voices today is not merely that they occasionally sin, but that they normalize and profit from the very sins that God calls abominable. In this article, I make the case that Candace Owens has increasingly made pride, deception, bearing false witness, reckless speech, division, and attacking widows the defining features of her public ministry and influence. This demonstrates why Christians should heed Scripture’s command to mark and avoid those who persistently sow such corruption.
INTRODUCTION
So far in this series, we have examined the evidence, the tactics, and the motivations behind Candace Owens’ public conduct. For the rest of the series, we now turn to the final question: What does God call these behaviors? Starting with this article, we will evaluate them according to Scripture’s own categories of sin.
Sins such as lying, bearing false witness, deception, causing division, creating confusion, and sowing discord among the brethren are serious sins and offenses that the Bible has a lot to say about. Some of these sins have become Candace’s entire brand and platform, which is why I keep urging Christians and people with integrity to mark and avoid her (Rom. 16:17). But I pray that as we look at several Scriptures while closing out this series, that you’d be fully convinced of the validity of these arguments through the word of God, and not by my own human analysis. God’s opinion is what matters, and we find that in his word.
WHEN ABOMINABLE SIN BECOMES YOUR BRAND
“These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.”
Proverbs 6:16-19
In our last article, we discussed the power of pride, and how it drives people to commit egregious sins which are usually very costly. It is pride that comes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before one’s fall (Prov. 16:18). Notice the first abominable sin mentioned here in (Prov. 6:16-19) is “a proud look”.
I believe the evidence shows that Candace is full of pride, and that it drives her to commit many of her egregious sins against God and other people. God does not take a passive approach to such things, like many people today take. He calls these sins an “abomination”. The Hebrew word for abomination here is toʿevah (תּוֹעֵבָה), which carries the idea of something being detestable, abhorrent, loathsome, or disgusting.1 These things disgust God, and if we’re in tune with his heart, they should disgust us as well!
Given the seriousness of these abominable sins which the Lord hates, you’d think that any self-professing Christian would want to avoid even the appearance of such evil with all diligence (1 Thes. 5:22). But that is not the case with Candace Owens. She has made a brand out of trafficking in almost every single one of these abominations mentioned above on a daily basis.
PUTTING THE INNOCENT IN DANGER
Candace is full of pride, and she’s proven to have a tongue that constantly lies and bears false witness (Prov. 6:17) (refer to articles 1-2 to see documented cases of lies that Candace has told and false witness she has borne without setting the record straight or repenting). Candace may not have shed innocent blood literally with her own hands (Prov. 6:17), but if her conspiracy theories and false accusations were to lead someone to physically harming an innocent person, she could incur “blood guilt” in the biblical sense. Scripture teaches that responsibility for bloodshed extends beyond the person who wields the weapon.2 What’s ironic and disturbing is that this is the kind of rhetoric that has led to an increase in political violence over the last ten years, which Charlie Kirk became a victim of.
A media environment dominated by the radical left has constantly used reckless language and false accusations for years to incite violence in their base. Charlie Kirk himself warned that it would lead to more violence if it didn’t stop, and that’s exactly what’s happened.3 Since Charlie’s tragic death, it has become increasingly evident that this kind of reckless rhetoric is not confined to the radical left. It is now found on the radical right as well. In many ways, this illustrates the political “horseshoe” phenomenon we are witnessing today, where the fringes of both the left and the right are beginning to resemble one another more than either would care to admit.
What if someone takes Candace seriously and truly believes that Erika Kirk is evil, that she was involved in a conspiracy to murder her husband, and that she’s been involved in human trafficking,4 as Candace has alleged? It’s not inconceivable to think that one of her followers could resort to violence, like the trans shooters on the left have on so many occasions. This is dangerous rhetoric that Candace keeps spewing out on a daily basis. She handles her power like a five-year-old who just found her father’s gun, and there are consequences for those who wield power so recklessly.
A HEART THAT DEVICES WICKED PLANS, FEET THAT ARE SWIFT IN RUNNING TO EVIL
Following the pattern once again in (Prov. 6:16-19), as we proved in the last few articles which dealt with motivations of the heart, I believe the evidence presented throughout this series demonstrates Candace’s heart has devised a wicked plan against Erika Kirk and Turning Point USA (Prov. 6:18). Her feet were swift in running to the evil of deception and weaponized conspiracy theories within days of the Kirk family’s tragic loss (Prov. 6:18). And she has most definitely sown discord among the brethren (Prov. 6:19). People like her and her buddy Tucker Carlson didn’t wait long to capitalize on the death of their “friend” Charlie Kirk, and use the loss of such a powerful gatekeeper to split the MAGA coalition for personal gain; a decision that may prove to truly be devastating if it leads to the radical woke left taking more power again in the near future.
Once again, I draw your attention back to the seriousness of the language that God inspired Solomon to speak with in this proverb. These are not trivial things. These are not small things. In the words of a Catholic Christian (which Candace professes to be), these are grave sins that could be mortal sins if committed knowingly and deliberately.
LYING, BEARING FALSE WITNESS, AND DECEPTION
In the list of seven abominable sins that the Lord hates, which we just mentioned, several of them involve the mouth. People may not see it this way, but God’s word has a lot to say about the destructive power of a sinful mouth. Sins of the flesh along with other sins are serious, but the Bible says, “death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Prov. 18:21).
When you’re someone like Candace Owens who has an enormous amount of influence, whose words are heard by millions every day all over the planet, it becomes all the more essential that you speak life and not death. It’s all the more needed for someone like her to allow God to touch the coal to her lips (Is. 6:7-8) and purify her speech, that God would be glorified and people would be helped through the power of her words.
The out of control wildfire of sin and carnage that is the public verbal processing of Candace Owens every day for millions to see and hear, is a testament to how spiritually dangerous her public ministry has become (Ja. 3:5-10). Dignity, honor, respect for a process to discover the truth and articulate it in a responsible way; these are concepts that seem far removed from Candace Owens. It pains me to think where this kind of media environment dominated by the kind of conspiracy star that Candace represents could lead our world in the days to come.
A STRONGER SCRIPTURAL CASE
In case you haven’t already been convinced of the seriousness of sin that your tongue can commit, such as bearing false witness, talebearing, lying, and intentionally deceiving, here are some more Scriptures for your consideration:
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” (Exodus 20:16)
“Do not lie to one another…” (Colossians 3:9)
“No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes.” (Psalm 101:7)
“…all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire…” (Revelation 21:8)
“…when he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)
We see here once again, as we pointed out in the few articles of this series, that the motivations of our heart are not far from the words we speak (Matt. 12:34). If we perpetually lie, deceive, and bear false witness, then we do so out of our own character (Jn. 8:44), and out of the abundance of our own hearts (Lk. 6:45). If we’ve made a practice out of trafficking in deception, these sins become spiritually deadly (1 Jn. 5:16-17), and we shall not dwell in the house of the Lord; we shall not continue before his eyes (Ps. 101:7). Speaking truth and purifying our hearts and minds is not an option in the kingdom of God, for without holiness no one shall see the Lord (Heb. 12:14).

RECKLESS SPEECH, SLANDER, AND DESTROYING PEOPLE WITH WORDS
When you begin to study the Scriptures to see just how much destruction and damage one can cause through the instrument of one’s tongue, it really is quite astonishing to consider. As I mentioned before, the tongue is like an unruly fire. James, the brother of Jesus, tells us that the tongue is “set on fire by hell itself”; that it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison (Ja. 3:5-10). With it we can bless or curse, and God says that out of the same mouth should not proceed both (Ja. 3:10).
These are serious words and warnings, not just for Christians but for all of mankind. If Candace calls herself a Christian, then why doesn’t she heed such warnings? Why is it that she allows her tongue to be such an evil unruly force on a daily basis? There’s a number of reasons, but one of the most obvious is pride.
Pride blinds a person to their worst flaws and sins. It caused Lucifer, a powerful anointed cherub living in a perfect heavenly environment, to fall from glory and become the darkest most sinister being in existence. If pride can blind eternal beings living in the light and clarity of heaven, how much more the people who are living on the earth during this present evil age (Gal. 1:4)? This is why every soul that desires for God to exalt them must first humble themselves under the mighty hand of God (1 Pet. 5:6). This is why every man and woman must constantly ask God to search their hearts and expose their ways, to see if there’s anything within that offends His holiness (Ps. 139:23-24). Only through this posture of humility, along with the grace of Almighty God, can we escape the clutches of luciferian pride that fells the smartest and most gifted of us all.
Once again, to make the biblical case stronger, so that you might be fully convinced: Here are some more Scriptures for your consideration which deal with sins of the tongue such as slander, corrupt speech, as well as speaking evil and deceit:
“Whoever utters slander is a fool.” (Proverbs 10:18)
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs 18:21)
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths…” (Ephesians 4:29)
“Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor…” (Psalm 52:2–4)
“Speak evil of no one…” (Titus 3:2)
“Put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.” (1 Peter 2:1)
There are many other passages I could point to that expose the problematic language and speech that Candace uses on a daily basis. She creates confusion in her followers (1 Cor. 14:33). She causes division and strife among people (Rom. 16:17; Titus 3:10-11), even in people’s marriages, which is being reported more and more as time goes on.5 She doesn’t respect the biblical process of justice and discovering the truth (Deut. 19:15–19; 1 Tim. 5:19; Prov. 18:17).
Galatians chapter five lists several of the works of the flesh including: strife, jealousy, fits of anger, dissensions, and divisions (Gal. 5:19-21). These are all things that clearly fit the behavior and fruit of Candace’s life and public ministry. And then there’s the issue of a new movement of antisemitism and Jew hatred, which she’s been a key part of spreading and inciting online. This is of course something the Bible has a lot to say about as well (Gen. 12:3; Zech. 2:8; Rom. 11:18).
But many of these issues are not confined to Candace Owens alone, or even what’s come to be called “the woke right”. Many of these issues have been at the heart of the MAGA movement and the consolidation of power on the right, in the Republican Party, and much of that falls at the feet of President Donald Trump himself.
THE SAME GOES FOR DONALD TRUMP AND MAGA
Before concluding today’s article, I want to address what I believe will be one of the biggest objections to this series. Some readers may rightly ask whether these same biblical standards should also be applied to political figures on the right, particularly President Donald Trump. My answer is yes.
The biblical standards I’ve applied throughout this series are not standards that apply only to Candace Owens or to people I disagree with politically or theologically. Christians must apply biblical discernment consistently, even toward leaders, influencers, or political figures whose policies or broader agendas they may support overall. I do not believe any political movement or public figure is beyond biblical criticism, including Donald Trump or leaders on the political right. But I will say the responsibilities borne by a head of state are fundamentally different from those borne by a media commentator.
Scripture recognizes that those entrusted with greater authority also bear unique burdens and are often forced to make difficult decisions in a fallen world (Rom. 13:1–7). Political leadership necessarily involves conflict, national security, diplomacy, and the exercise of civil authority in ways that are unlike the vocation of a commentator or influencer.
Recognizing sinful rhetoric, personal flaws, or reckless speech in a public figure does not automatically mean every aspect of their leadership, policies, or influence is equally destructive or morally equivalent. Christians are forced to make difficult moral distinctions in political life between imperfect people, imperfect systems, and competing outcomes in a fallen world.
This brings us to one of the main differences between someone like Candace Owens and a politician like Donald Trump. I have to engage with figures like Donald Trump to a degree to fulfill my civic responsibility as a citizen of the United States republic. Whereas I don’t have to engage with Candace Owens, because she is primarily a media commentator rather than an elected official.
My concern throughout this series has not been political perfectionism, but the repeated pattern of deception, slander, reckless accusation, antisemitic rhetoric, reprehensible attacks on a widow, and spiritually corrosive influence that I believe Candace Owens has increasingly embraced and spread through her platform. Christians must be willing to evaluate all influential voices — whether political, cultural, or religious — through the lens of Scripture rather than tribal loyalty or partisan attachment.
I must say, I am personally grieved by much of the speech, behavior, and attitudes of our President, Donald J. Trump, while at the same time inspired by his courage, his strength, and his unapologetic support for the Christian faith and heritage in America. As I say about Candace Owens, so must I say about figures like Donald Trump (who I personally like): they will both be held accountable according to the same standards of truth derived from Scripture, and they both will stand before God one day to give an account for their lives and influence. May God prepare both of them for that great day of judgment that is in their futures. May God prepare all of us for that day, by his grace.
CONCLUSION
As we’ve seen throughout Proverbs 6, the sins we’ve examined are not minor flaws or personality quirks that God simply overlooks. Pride, lying, bearing false witness, devising wicked plans, sowing discord, and using the tongue to destroy others are among the very things that Scripture says the Lord hates and calls an abomination. These are not merely sins that can damage reputations; they are sins that destroy people, families, churches, and nations when they become normalized and celebrated.
At the same time, this article is not ultimately about Candace Owens alone. It is about every one of us. Before we use the Word of God to examine another person’s life, we must first allow it to examine our own. Every Christian should ask themselves: Have I used my words to build up or to tear down? Have I trafficked in gossip, exaggeration, slander, reckless accusations, or deception? Have I sown peace among brethren, or have I sown confusion and division? The same Scriptures that expose Candace Owens also expose every heart that is willing to stand honestly before God.
The difference is not whether we have sinned (for we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23)). The difference is whether we humble ourselves before God, receive correction, repent, and allow Him to transform us into people who love truth more than attention, righteousness more than influence, and Christ more than our own reputation. God opposes the proud, but He gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). There is mercy available for every sinner who turns to Christ in genuine repentance.
That’s going to do it for today’s article. In our next installment, we will continue examining key Scriptural passages that address additional patterns of sin that have become increasingly common in the podcasting and social media age.
One of the biblical categories we will begin exploring is the unique ways Scripture addresses women and the particular forms of influence, temptation, and deception that can arise in relation to womanhood. Candace Owens is a woman, and a significant portion of her audience is women. These realities raise important questions that deserve to be examined carefully through the lens of Scripture rather than modern culture.
The Bible has much to say about the distinct ways God created men and women, and about the different strategies the enemy employs to deceive them. As more testimonies emerge of marriages, families, and churches experiencing division connected to these influences, I believe the next few articles will be among the most important in this series—not only for women, but for husbands, wives, parents, pastors, and anyone seeking to navigate the challenges of the social media era with biblical wisdom.

Another excellent post and yes, while I voted for Donald Trump( x 3), I agree that his language and behavior are damaging, prideful and childlike many times. Petulance is unbecoming to anyone and everyone and we must not lead with emotions but be spirit controlled. I have said for a while that morally there is almost zero distinction between the right and left. I see immoral, ungodly behavior on both sides…the same verbiage, the same immorality…. They only disagree politically. Leaning right politically will not save America from falling , but Christians applying godly principles to every minute living and allowing ourselves to be transformed into the image of Christ, will. What we do everyday (every moment) and how we choose to honor Christ at home, at the grocery store, etc., that is where we live……We treat everyday life and dedication so casually and then wonder why the country and world are in a mess. It is a spiritual war and until people realize that every waking moment our minds are a battle ground for the forces of the kingdom of light and darkness, things won’t change…..Is it ok to tell a white lie, cheat on your taxes, gossip (feigning itself as concern), consume alcohol, rule our home with an iron fist? (the list goes on and on). We look at the “big” sins in others and dismiss those “little “ sins in our own lives. The Bible say “the little foxes spoil the vine”!! To God there are no “little sins”. While good morals and works will not save a person, they should be abundantly evident in the life of a Christian. Thanks again, for all that you do. I know this isn’t articulated well, but the best I can do over my first cup of
coffee!
Assuming you’re correct that she’s actually lying but the same verse is that you expand and I could actually be in fact anyone who is a part of a conspiracy who did kill Charlie Kirk, of which she’s exposing. she wouldn’t be lying at all and those same verses that you used to describe her would describe everybody who’s involved in the covering up in the killing the shedding of innocent blood of Charlie Kirk you’re assuming that she’s spreading lies I don’t see no lies being spread if she doesn’t know the fact 100% she in fact says I am not certain of this although she’s presenting many receipts on her show the truth of the matter Is TP USA Faith has evangelical Christians with talking points trying to paint Candice as the liar the gossiper whatever they cherry pick pieces of her episodes in their favor just like people cherry pick Bible verses they leave the majority of the context out when they pick them. you’re leaving the context out of many other things that she saying if you in fact, listen to her you’ll know she’s telling the truth. There’s legitimate questions as to why the crime scene was plowed over three days later she’s asking legitimate questions. She has a whole timeline, a list of lies that’s been told & legitimate questions of things that don’t add up that make it look like a cover-up, but what you’re presenting here is just assuming that you’re right & that she’s a liar. I don’t think she’s a liar and I think that that’s an unfair assumption it would seem this article is made for the same evangelical Christians that want to silence her that are being used by the exact organization She’s been trying to expose due to the strange responses , and activities before and after . Maybe you should ask. Is there something that should be exposed? Maybe follow the money maybe there was jealousy or anger for failed deals by walking away from Zionist donors. Maybe there was infiltration this is what she’s asking if you cared about Charlie Kirk you’d ask the same questions . Unless you’re part of the plans to silence and discredit. you think some furry trans kid made that shot. You believe it’s a 30.06 ? I hope you apologize if the time comes that it was proven that she has been correct (if they’ll allow it) They might kill her before then, but if you think your government is telling you the truth, and they never lie, and they never have coverups then you’re foolish.
